Spoilt Brats
Here is my story. My husbands sister is a single parent of two kids, one boy and a girl. Her husband left her and ran off with another woman. That was about 4 years ago. Ever since then she thinks the world owes her a living. The council gave her a nice big 3 bedroom comfy house with a huge garden just down the road from her rich parents. The kids still see the father and are totally and uterly spoilt by the grandparents and her and the kids dont want for nothing. My husband and I live about 70 miles away and both work hard for a living, we dont have our own house because we cant afford one and just get by. I havent had an holiday in over 4 years either. Every school holidays, the sister in law gets on the phone and says, can we come up to visit for a few days. When they have been in my home they treat me like a servant, slave, nanny, entertainer all in one. The sister in law sits on her arse while her kids run wild and make a mess and they are the most spoilt brats I have ever known in my life. She has the same old story, Oh Im a poor struggling, single parent with two kids. By the time they go home my house is turned upside down and it takes days to get it straight again. I love my husband very much and we both work so hard. For the past year I have put a stop to his sister and kids visiting, I basically have had enough, I have explained this to my husband and he agrees. The world doesnt owe this woman a living or her kids, oh and she has been abroad twice this year already, she lives quite a charmed life for a single mother. Me and my husband have decided she can visit 3 times per year from now on and only stay overnight and go back next day. I have a son of my own who is grown up and I would never have pushed myself or him onto other people like that, i have always worked for what he had. Anyway do you think my decision is right, what would you have done in this situation?
